That was a great video! I totally wasn't expecting zombies to break into the house lol. Filming them outside, slowly walking up to the house was so creepy! And I LOVE that you played 'Rock Lobster' at your party. That's on my Halloween playlist, along with 'Dance this mess around'. Fantastic job! Thank you for sharing

52's is timeless party music. In '09 I heard "Planet Claire" on the radio a few weeks before the party, and decided to make it my opening track after the blackout. I edited it a bit with a transitioning "underwater" filter, and linked it with some thunder and lightening hits and it was just awesome. Let me see if I can post up that video. The video is from a crappy camera, but you can see how the song brought the whole party in.
While last year was awesome, I still hold out '09 as the best party ever by a slight margin.JH

Here's the 2009 Party blackout and music intro. The thunder hits are synched to the music, 2 CDs played simultaneously one outputs to the sound system and the other triggers the strobes. It's cool because I can make the thunder hit at any precise moment in the song I want. Intro is Planet Claire by the B52s, and by a slim margin I think is the best blackout/intro I have ever done. The Planet Claire into is over a minute long (overlayed some voices right before the crash of lightening, listen).
Two strobes in the backyard firing in through the windows, a 750 watt and 1800 watt one.
We hand out glow sticks every year when people arrive, and some guest get drinking glasses with blinking LEDs in the bottom, you can see them when the power goes out. I hang a couple yard sale chandeliers from the track light fixture and use flicker bulbs in them.
You can hear an electric buzz and a bang at :17 and then the house blacks out.
God this is fun......
Oh, Star Girl Mag, the thriller mix is the Thriller DMC mix. You can probably get it off Youtube.JH

Wow maybe in a few years I can pull something this cool off. We're only on year 4 this year with around 50 guests last year, and usually only manage about 20 minutes of dancing by the truly intoxicated at the end of the evening. LOL!
