So yesterday I am Halloween shopping with some friends when I started to get overwhelmed and stressed. I am having my 2nd Halloween party, mostly with all new guests because I have moved since my last one a couple years ago. And my friends were totally laughing at me. I told them that decorations can be expensive and I don't have the money to just buy something cool and hope it works out. I did buy a few things, and when I got home, I sorted through my collection of stuff and came up with some more ideas for decorating. Now, feeling much better, I have to ask.........has anyone else ever had a minor freak out this early in the season??![]()

I'm freaking out a little bit everyday cause I pretty much don't have a Halloween budget due to my other budget (e.g. house, car payments and such). I'm just having a small get together with family and the children, but I wish I could do so much more, but that's why we have each other here. For ideas on the cheap and for venting when we do have minor freak outs

This early? Oh no, no, no. I was freaking out weeks ago. Since we make most of our stuff every second counts and with 2 new puppies in the house it's a trick to find time to work on anything. And then some of the stuff that you work on must taste really good to puppies 'cause they try to eat it.
In all seriousness, try not to freak too much. It'll take the fun out of it for you and if it isn't fun why do it?

For me, freaking out is the best part. It keeps me motivated. I reached freak out mode yesterday when I realized I haven't done nearly as much this year as I had done this same time last year. I'll be very busy the rest of this week catching up.

The countdown on the forum usually freaks me out when it hits 60 days. Too much that I want to do, and never enough time, and no motivation in heat during August.

Me too Red Hallows, the forum countdown always freaks me out!lol I'm taking it easy this year no matter what......we really have a lot of new things to go up & for me thats always stressful as to where they are gonna go. I did not get any projects built this year but as soon as Jer gets back from vacation we have quite a few PVC people to build & now today I found 2 more costumes.
Main thing is to enjoy yourself decorating!

My advice is, don't get stressed out by something that is meant to bring you joy! Take a deep breath and remember why you are doing this. I'm sure your decorations will be awesome and all will be good. No worries!

My advice....keep your mouth shut.
As long as know one else knows your plan, they'll never know what you didn't get done. It's okay to put a lil pressure on yourself to get things done, but when the fun's gone and you're thinking you have to do it, instead of wanting to do it, then you need to take a step back and breathe.
Anyone here who is getting everything done they want to get done for Halloween is setting the bar way to low....

Scatterbrains you hit the nail on the head! This is exactly what I have learned over the years. Whatever decor or props or spooky-named food you put out, the guests will love it! Because you are having the party, you probably will decorate way more than your guests would, and when they see what you have done, they can't help but feel the Halloween love.
Oooh eee oooh ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang...
