Good morning all! Happy month before Halloween!!!
So I finally decided on a loose theme for my party. Since its our first Halloween party in our new home, we decided to not go with a really defined theme just to kind of see how it goes. I have decided to go with a Masked Ball but not exactly. All I want is for people to wear some kind of mask or face paint. But I'm not sure how to word it on the invitation so that they don't think they have to really dress up in what I would consider masquerade attire. Doesn't have to be ball gowns and tuxes. I don't care what the costume is as long as there is a mask. A friend asked how she was supposed to be a girl scout in a mask and I said make a cookie eye patch!
Any ideas? I was thinking something like (and this came into my head at about 2:30 this morning so no judging!) No matter who you're other self decided to be tonight, Choose a mask and wear it well, so your true identity, no one can tell. (I stole that last part from somewhere, sorry I don't remember who!)
But I don't know if thats clear enough...
Also, I plan on providing the beer so do you think if I put "BYOL, we'll supply the B" people will get it?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ooh I like the mask idea! Here's a suggestion. How about changing the first part so it goes something like this:
You can be anything at all,
but please wear a costume
and come to our Ball.
Choose a mask and wear it well,
so your true identity
no one can tell!
As for he BYOL I'm not sure if I would know what that means (but then again I'm not a beer drinker either). It's a little wordier, but you could say 'Beer will provided or you can bring your beverage of choice'
Good luck with your party. It sounds like fun!

BYOL stand for "bring your own liqour, or "bring your own laptop." (thank you google)
So if you said that you would be proving the "b" you would be proving the bring. I would just state that beer would be provided.
"Whoever your inner self decides to be, wear a mask and wear it well, so true identity, no one can tell."
I'm just wondering if you use the word "ball' people might think it is a costume ball party. Someone posted these websites on this forum. www.yola.com and www.wufoo.com You could make a website or Facebook event stating that your guest can wear what they please but masks are required, underpants are optional. lol

Hmm, I've always heard it as BYOB, bring your own bottle, whether liquor, wine, or beer.
