Thread: Where to start?

Wow. Ok, I feel like its about time to start decorating the inside of my house. This year is really important to me as it is my Vampire theme year and they are my absolute favorite!!! So I want to do this thing right!

I'm just feeling kind of overwhelmed right now... I don't know where to start decorating!


What is the first thing you guys normally do?

I've done a few parties in the past but this one is special and bigger! Do you have a process? Please share!

What do you save until last?

I do a party... not a haunt... btw.

I like to make lists. I also have a calender that I write on each day has something I need to do leading up to the party. I start by getting out my halloween decorations and seperating them out by what I put up first. I always leave the outside decorations for the day before the party. I get out my dishes and wash them and label them for what I am going to put in them so I am not searching for serving dishes at the last minute. I make up the menu and plan my grocery list. I test all my light bulbs and lights to make sure they work and I check everything that needs batteries and put how many and what kind of batteries on my shopping list. All my black lights are in boxes and labeled for where they go so that the night of the party I can put them where they need to be. I have a really great best friend that helps me every year. We start working on the party in August, we spend a lot of weekends together. Good luck on your party!
