Hi guys. Well this Hallowe'en I won't be drinking due to health issues. I had a really bad bout of dizziness earlier in the year and I've been told that because of the damage in my inner ear, drinking could make me go very dizzy. So yeah, I'm not about to play with that. If you've ever been truly dizzy, you will know how horrible it is! I've also got a couple of friends who don't drink because of health issues and some people might be driving, so yeah. Do any of you know of any good, non-alcoholic drink recipes?

I screwed up my inner ear a while back and for months I had dizzy spells... that sucked so bad. You have my sympathies and I do hope it isn't a long-term thing for you.

I do a non-alcoholic punch for my parties:
1 - 2 liter of gingerale
2 cups cranberry juice
1 frozen concentrate container of lemon/lime ade
1 small tub of orange sherbet
If you're talking mixed drinks sans alcohol, I actually love mixing fruit juices with sprite for a little punch... although I just love plain grapefruit juice too.
A few other ideas:

Am sorry to hear of your health troubles and can very much sympahise with you. I've suffered with severe vertigo for almost two years now- even had to quit my job because I wasn't able to walk on my own some days. One doctor told me that I may have to have surgery to remove my inner ear and the part which controls your balance and re-learn how to walk if my condition got worse. While I had another doctor tell me that I should basiclly get on with my life-- had a few choice words for him!! I have found that seeing a chiropractor has helped me but other people I've spoken to have said that acupunture works for them. Thankfully I am having a good run at the moment and can enjoy a few drinks but definately feel the effects much more than before I got dizzy and now feel yuck for a few days after even after only 2-3 drinks. Very frustrating condition and I wish you well very soon!!!

But anyhow, back to your question
I make a punch from tinned fruit salad (fruit punch mix it is also called), tropical fruit juice and 1 or two bottles of lemonade which is nice and enjoyed by all, especially good the next day.
Or try allrecipes as they have some good ideas- just check to make sure there isn't booze or just sub the alcohol for more soda. http://allrecipes.com/recipes/holida...ll.aspx?page=1Growing old is compulsory; growing up is optional. -- Bob Monkhouse

Sorry to hear! I quit drinking alcohol at the beginning of the year due to a similiar reason...It started effecting me very strangly with the vertigo, dizziness and almost blackouts...very horrible sensation...finally the Dr's found a tumor, for which I had surgery for in August...but I realized that I very much like Not drinking more than drinking.
So I do alot of non-a drinks for me since I am still very sociable..it lets me fit in with all the other drinkers (which all of my Halloween guests are.) I am a fan of tonic water mixed with Lemon Perrier or some other sparkling water....I also drink the non-a beers, such as Kalibur, Sharps and a few other foreign dark ones (I like to pour the beers in a stein and add squeezed orange.)..alcohol removed wine is always a good option as well...(I like Ariel) A few mixed options...
