Our set up time for our party this year will be RIDICULOUS but were also trying to save money by re-using all our old props. We're kinda creating different areas for different themes but were mostly only using pre-existing props. We need help including some other popular fairy tales using common props, like cinderella, goldilocks, sleeping beauty, peter and the wolf... Just think about the kinda stuff you have lying around for the holiday (bats, pumpkins, skulls, bones, twigs, rats, body parts, cobwebs, lanterns, candles) as we have literally 10+ totes of old props oh and also an FCG we can't seem to fit into the theme. Here's what we have so far:
Front room: A FAIRY, TROLL, GOBLIN forest created using UV painted branches and black-lights.
Food Table: LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD using lots of baskets as serving containers, a red table cloth and lots of flowers, and moss.
Self Serve Bar: ALICE IN WONDERLAND using several containers for punches, and beer in bright greens and purples and extras like straws and drink garnishes in a series of old teacups. "Drink Me" labels will be place on all the glasses as well.
Corner: JACK AND THE BEANSTALK using all of my fake vines. I will pin up the vines up the wall and across the ceiling.
Back porch: SNOW WHITE using my bobbing for apples stuff to hint at the story and also using a large "magic mirror."
Bath room": LITTLE MISS MUFFET using a black light I will fill the room with leftover plastic spiders prayed with a light coating of UV paint. One small wall will we coated with black plastic with a UV pained spider web and the words "... along came a spider."
Computer room:WITCHES/HANSEL AND GRETEL using a TON of random witch props we will create a witch's cottage. In one corner (schedule permitting) we plan to make a large cage for our guests to take photos in and a brightly colored candy bar table.
There are still plently of props left over, and areas including a fireplace. ANY ADVICE would be much appreciated. I feel that there are some fairy tales that are definitely missing.

You could incorporate the Huntsman from 'Snow White' into your haunted forest section.
Off-hand, I can only think of three other fairy tales right now: 'Sleeping Beauty', 'Rumpelstiltskin', 'Rapunzel''A mind of metal and wheels . . .'

There's always the gingerbread man and the sly fox that ate him.

Are you doing a twisted fairy tale theme?
What type of props do you aleady own?
To modify existing props:
add masks, gloves, wigs, accessories, hallloween costumes to change the props appearance ex. an old skeleton or reaper prop can become a witch or wolf with a cheap mask
pin new fabric to existing props to transform them... ex. use red fabric to tranform an exisitng prop into red riding hood, or shiny fabric to create a princess gown...
skin old props with carboard or poster board to temporaily modify them... for example you can create cardboard tombstones for fairly tale characters and tape them to existing tombstones to make them larger, thicker, freestanding, and more realistic
create unexpected scenes with existing props..... ex pile all your bones and skulls in a corner and make a sign "The Wolf's Lair" , line up your all your snakes and rats behind a skeleton with a flute ("The Pied Piper"),Darkness has a hunger that's insatiable

Are you serving food?
If so you can use Alice and Wonderland for the buffet or potluck area. This website has some good ideas http://www.alice-in-wonderland.net/m...rty-ideas.html
And use the Snow White theme to create a POISON APPLE BAR. You can use your exisitng set up.... but include shot glasses created out of apples... for less than $10 you can get a tool that hollows out part of an apple.....Darkness has a hunger that's insatiable

All great ideas. I don't really have much in the way of character props, I had an awesome scarecrow prop last year that I disassembled for space and used to have a single "bucky" that has really fallen apart but he may work for the wolfs lair, then of course there's my FCG, she's my only non-static prop. Rapunzel would be awesome with a mane full of snakes!!! but alas I would have to acquire a very large wig. I may have an old pan flute I can pair with some rats and a single skull. Thanks! Most of my props are small objects and fake critters. I do have many tombstones but they are homemade and already look fantastic, so I think I am just going to go with the idea that the forest is beyond the graveyard, which is in the front yard.

Cinderella could always be a "Rat drawn Pumpkin" instead of a horse drawn carrige, then put one of your shoes near by for the cinderella take on it.
I also painted a large cardboard box black, and 'turrets' on it using toiler paper rolls, painted on some windows and bought a hair plait from the $2 shop, and had the hair draped down from the window, for rupunzel... put some moss at the bottom.
I did a witches kitchen with fairytale take on things (there are some picts in my album).
Will keep thinking, surely I did more than that ...
Such a great theme :-)

If you have fake pumpkins you could make Peter's Pumpkin Patch and add body parts in a pumpkin shell for Peter's wife.
