I had my theme for this year chosen right after last year, but I'm not sure where to go with it.
Theme is: Time Warp
What I mean by that is anything through time: 20s flappers, classic icons like James Dean & Marilyn Monroe, hippies, disco, car hop, future, etc. I am hoping to come up with a little poem to express this to include on the invite so poeple understand. Ideas?
The invite will be flyer style with a broken clock or 13 hour clock as the focus.
My costume will be a retro style pin-up.
For decor, I am thinking decorating each room in a different era. Any suggestions?
For our photo op area I'm hoping to construct a time machine of some sort for people to pose in front of.
I am also going to throw music into the playlist from different eras amongst the usual music.

Disco is Dead
Skeleton roller skating car hops, 50's diner would be good for the kitchen
mobster stuff for the 20's, black and white
Lot's of peace love & rock & roll for the 60's
Sorry, that's not much help......

I came up with a possible poem for your invites:
Come one, Come all,
no need for despair,
it's our Halloween ball,
and it's a "timley" affair.
Our time machine broke,
the dates got all mixed,
there's a "Whitechapel bloke"
and a bunch of hippy chicks
A flapper, a spaceman,
gun slinging outlaws,
there's an Elvis, a Marilyn,
and a "rebel without a cause".
a gangster with a tommy gun,
and hair metal rockers,
remember when you had so much fun,
stuffing nerds into gym lockers?
So come party with us when the sun go's down,
from the future back through the past,
whether dressed in zoot suit or evening gown.
its sure to be a blast!!
Hope this helps, Marc V.

Love the poem! I just emailed it to the gal working on my invitations. Anyone else have ideas for decor, classic food or drinks, or songs for the playlist?

All I can think of is the Huey Lewis song from Back to the Future, "Back in Time!" I loved those movies =)
