It has been a while since I posted. Last year was pretty much nonexistent as far has props go. This year however is looking promising.
I am hoping to get some feedback from the group here. I have about a month to work on this and not sure what the proper direction to go is. I only have about a day or 2 to get the final pricing to them.
I was contacted by a college for a spook night. They will be having carnival games, fun foods such as cotton candy, popcorn, funnel cakes and the such. They could not give me a budget so I have to throw ideas out and see what sticks. The party is on October 7th so not much time to work on things plus I have a few other events coming up so I can not devote all my time to this.
What I have to work with is a magic mirror that I built 2 years ago and a couple signs that say beware, boo. Not scary at all. Because they are college students, the more realistic the better. They are looking for scare and gore. But without knowing a budget and the time limitation, I am just not sure what I can do. There will be about 500 to 800 students, a good size crowd. I will be the only one working on this so, I am limited with help too.
So if anyone has any ideas, links or products to recommend, I am all ears. I know you get what you pay for but with both time and possible money limitations, I am hoping for some help. The last thing I want is for it to be cheesy and they feel they did not get their monies worth.
Definitely go the clowns , freak show route.............start hitting the thrift stores for clothes you can modify and start making scary clowns. Make a body parts toss game, dollar tree has hands and feet or hearts and livers. Ask around it anyone has props they can lend you.
Got some feed back from the college. They only have $3000 to spend for 500-800 students. The carnival games, operators and food will be at least that so unfortunately there is no room for the spook effects... I was so hoping to add a few things to my inventory.
Thanks for the ideas though. It was good while it lasted.
