Hi everyone! I need some ideas for a backstory for my sons birthday party, so guests sort of know before hand what theyre walking into. Id like to somehow incorporate the story into the invite. The theme is zombies, and the decor will be of an abandoned house left in the middle of a birthday party (disheveled furniture, ripped down birthday banners and streamers) but I really cant think of a reason why we would be there that doesnt sound silly....for instance all I could come up with was, 10 years a go the birthday was interrupted by a zombie invasion, yadda yadda...and now what? theyre back?? lol I'm looking for something more attention grabbing than that. Why are we back at the scene of the birthday 10 years after this family was quarantined and zombies invaded? Im sorry if this makes no sense, Ive been up to my eyeballs in zombies for the last few weeks...I'm starting to feel like one myself. 0.o Thanks in advance!

First - I gotta tell ya, I love your handle!

And what a clever b'day party theme, it sounds like it will be tons of fun and it has the potential to turn into a tradition that would only get better with each passing year.

Are you inviting the party goers to come in character? As zombies, or maybe zombie hunters?
If so then the story could go something like this:
10 years ago a birthday party was crashed by a maurauding band of zombies.

They were irresistibly drawn to the sounds of laughter and music, because everyone knows that zombies LOVE a great party, right?
Naturally, all of the guests panicked and ran to hide in terror (which was very wise). But as they watched from their hiding places, they were shocked to see that the zombies were behaving like polite party guests. They were having fun, dancing around, eating snacks and playing party games
('though they were a bit stiff ).

In fact, those zombies were having so much fun that the "real" party guests began to get jealous, and one by one, each of them let down their guard, and came back out of hiding to join in - all except for one boy, who tried his very best to convince his friends to remain hidden, but no matter how he tried to hold them back, they just wouldn't listen.

Now, as we all know, zombies simply can't be trusted, and eventually they did what zombies do - they went on a wild rampage, tearing apart the room and turning all of the other guests into zombies, too -
all, that is, except for that one single boy, the one who had wisely stayed hidden, and thus, escaped the fearsome fate of his friends.

But zombies never forget (they're kinda like elephants in that regard ) and so now, each year, on the anniversary of that ill-fated day, those party loving zombies return --- still seeking to find that one last boy so that they can add him to the ranks of the undead. And each year a number of brave (or should I say foolhardy?) zombie hunters also return to the scene, hoping to make their fame and fortune by capturing the band so that scientists (employed by Joan Rivers, no doubt) can study them to learn the secrets of eternal existance.

So yep, they're back. Let the mayhem ensue LOL
    ~ Apples for everyone!
