I picked up a Wilton 3D flex plastic chocolate mold today. The mold makes 2-pieces, the front of the skull and the back of the skull. Nice detailing. I thought I'd use it for a cream cheese mold instead and add some black detailing with their spray product (hopefully I can mask the white areas easily with some plastic wrap that I can then peel off. I'm guessing maybe the mold holds a cup or a little less volume wise. Being plastic it's a pretty cheap mold and probably could be used as a mold for other non-edible skulls for ones haunt. When the mold pieces are put together you have a 3D skull that sits on a base.

Here's a link to it on the Wilton site. Actually I see it's almost 2 cups and under $2.

I picked it up at a Beverly's Fabric and Craft store today. They're in California only. They gave me 20% off as well, although it's a pretty cheap item compared to my other Halloween items so the discount didn't amount to much, but still...20% is 20%.

I Should have thought to mention before. I'll measure and post later tonight when I get home.

Update: the skull is apx. 3-3/4 inches tall. Each half of the mold is just under 2 inches deep, so depending how you assemble and join the halves, figure 4 inches total. 3 inches from ear to ear wide.

So are they recomending that you fill each half and put together.
I thought for 3d choc. molds you fill half way, clamp together and rotate till the cho. coats the entire mold.

That method would give you a hollow chocolate skull. You could do it the other way with whatever to make it solid.
