Sounds like great fun to have a pirate theme - I was looking at member profiles and ran across One eyed Mick - he has some great pirate party themed pictures on his profile. You might want to check them out.
As I was going up the stair, I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. I wish, I wish he'd go away.

there is a thread on here all about pirates
"We accommodate the living, but who shall accommodate the dead?"
"We say haunted, but we mean the house has gone insane."

Again, I am just amazed at the amout of people that view the thread and don't reply! I had a hard time getting advice for my first halloween party a couple of yrs ago. It was like pulling teeth! You just have to search all the existing threads using the search box at the top. If you search pirates or pirate you will get a ton of threads! I have never thrown a pirate party but it sounds awesome!

I checked out the photos of One Eye Mick and they gave me some great ideas. I tried typing in Pirates and Pirate in the search box and had a hard time picking out the tread. It was more about items people had found like at Big Lots. Thanks for the advice, I think I will go back and search some more.
Today at the thrift store I found an old Iguana cage and thought it would be perfect with a skeleton inside. It was in pretty bad shape and they wanted $60 so I am going to hold out and see if it will go down in price. It was also too big to fit in my car.
The thrift store is a great place for finds!

Like your idea of a skeleton in a cage - I have seen some antique looking wooden birdcages at places like Marshall's for much cheaper I would definately hold out $60 seems very expensive!!

The tempting part of this cage was that it was almost taller then me (5'1"). It was really too big to fit in my car. It was pretty old and rusted but that added to the appeal. Of course Hubby was all over it. He has an eye for the Halloween things at thrift stores. I asked and the lady said that pet items didn't really go that fast and that the color of the tag goes on sale pretty often. I will just have to watch for a sale and then find someone who can help me tote it home.

Wow...that must have been some cage! LOL Thrift stores are great but they are getting more and more expensive if you ask me. I passed a good will store the other day and it was packed full of people. I thought..wow..there must be some great stuff in there. All I found was a bunch of over priced junk! I did score big last yr though when I got a ton of white sheets to cover my furniture for around 2 bucks each.
