Thread: Spooky Birthday in July...

Our twins turn eight years old on the 31st, and this morning they told me that they want a spooky cake and decorations. I couldn't be more proud! Anyway, since we will still decorate and celebrate during the entire month of October for Halloween, I want their party to bring the creepy without screaming Halloween, you know?

I have two and a half weeks to pull this off with a limited budget. Any of y'all's ideas are much, much appreciated!

Well, first off, are your twins boys or girls, or one of each?

Did you look at Oriental Trading yet? Maybe it would help if you came up with a more focused theme first.

Some thoughts:

- A monsters party: think Monsters, Inc. but a generic version of the movie.
- A skeleton theme: there are boy and girl versions of this party theme, saw it either on Oriental Trading or Party City website.
- Haunted Mansion: the decoration possibilities are endless with this theme.

You know what, a monsters party is a fantastic idea!! I already have things to contribute for those decorations! Wonderful. Will certainly give Oriental Trading a whirl. Also, google is my friend.

Monsters would be so much fun! - think blue fuzzy cake or cupcakes with eyes - monster fingers (bread sticks) - wax lips with fangs - making monster masks or even having guests come dressed as a monster
