    Talking Amity's 4th of July Celebration! – 06-30-2011,05:31 PM


    To bring a little horror to the summer holidays, I'm having a Jaws-themed 4th of July party on Saturday! It's being advertised as "Amity's 4th of July Celebration". For the most part it's more of a 4th of July party, but I have a few little scenes/areas that are themed around Jaws. Here's the info from the Facebook event page I sent those invited:

    Amity Island welcomes you to come celebrate summer at it's 50th annual 4th of July Celebration! Join us for food, fun, and fireworks as we commemorate the birth of our great nation!

    Hot dogs, ice cream, lemonade, and more! Wear your favorite nautical gear!

    Remember - Amity means friendship!

    UPDATE: The shark that supposedly injured some bathers has, in fact, been caught and destroyed! A film documenting the ordeal will be shown.



    People are going to get their photos taken with "Jaws" (shark fin in a kiddie pool), there will be patriotic music playing, and when it's dark we'll be watching Jaws on the lake behind my house. (My boyfriend hung a big white sheet in-between the trees to use as a screen for the projector!)
