a box/container of some sort, that has a glass front showing snakes/spiders inside etc, that a (un)lucky contestant would have to put their hands in to retrieve a coin or token, but infact its all an illusion and they'r actually rummaging about in an empty prop filled compartment.

Im stumped.

or any other method to produce a similar effect for a fear factor type game.

help please.

you could do it with a peppers ghost type illusion using a mirror and snakes and the place where they are really putting their hand is under the mirror.

I'd use plexiglass and make a smaller box in front of the main box - like this:



(I didn't draw the top or bottom but this should get the general idea across)


Have a lid on the whole thing with a small door that opens inside the real chamber, and have bugs and such in the plexi chamber. If you do real bugs, you could get crickets from the pet store (they sell them for feeding snakes) and then release them or maybe try to sell them back? Or just use fake bugs and snakes...

That is pretty much what I thought, would it look convincing? I even thought of hiding in a small remote control toy to give a quick buzz every now and again for good measure, really freak them out lol.
