I was throwing lots of ideas about for the party theme and couldn't decide but my good lady has requested a rocky horror picture show theme so I think that's possibly decided. I knew I would get her involved somehow. Has anyone else done this theme or have any ideas for props etc.

Never did is as a 'Theme' however when we did Hollywood/ Movies we did do the 'Time Warp' I was Magenta, My co-hauntaholic Aunt was Riff Raff and my Daugher was Columbia, the rest of the 'Crew' were transelvanians. Hollywood we did a Awards show and gave out awards (Karloffs) for Best Hair, Best Make up and something else, along with a plaque to My Husbands Grand Parents for Continues Support in Halloween. The year we did this, 2005, Rocky Horror was selected to be preserved in the Library of Congress.
My 'Crew' did do a outing to the show at the Oriental in Milwaukee, the longest running of the Movie anywhere. I was given a 'Holy Toast' that you squish on to bread before toasting and it will show 'the Virgin Mary' I made a whole loaf for the show.Man cannot live on bread alone.... (unless he is in a cage and that is all you feed him.)

You should send out character bios with the invitations and have your guest come as the requested character prepared to perform.

The character bio thing is a pretty good idea, at least i wont have everyone turning up as the same character then.
Cheers

Doesn't mean it will work. It has taken me years to get people to wear costumes and not bring children! Even tho' it has been on every dang invite for around 10 years.
I just don't get people. They have the perfect opportunity once a year to get out and have a fun adult night, wearing costumes, getting to cut loose, kids tucked in for the night with grandma or a sitter. Why can't they just do it. I don't ask for or even expect fancy costumes, just a costume, a sheet full of holes a la Charlie Brown would be a total hit. Just have fun with it.
