So Normally Hubby and I do a scary halloween theme, and its usually an adult party. This year howver, we are in Kentucky and Hubby is deployed and so are most of the adults lol. So Since we have a baby girl now (who will be 9ish months on halloween) I was thinkng about doing something a bit more kiddo friendly. That way all the mommys whose hubs are in Afghanistan too can have a good time.
I have never thrown a kids party before, and was wondering if anyione had ideas. I was thinking a super hero/ villan theme, bc so many kids do transformers, disney ect. Anyideas. So far i was thinking about words like Kapow and Whamo on the walls and on balloons. Big movinge boxes to look like sky scrapers, with action figures on top or suspended by fishing wire.
what are kid friendly games? Food ideas? more deoration ideas?? A movie i could put on as it got later???? Like i said before ive never thrown a kids party before, oh things change when you have little ones lol.
Anything would be helpful!![]()

I did this theme last year, although it was for adults, I love that you are doing this for kids and why. Thank you to You and Your Husband!
For decorations they do have 'scene setters' the plastic that goes on the walls of 'A Metropolious' that looks pretty cool.
I did Green Jello shots that I called Kryptonite, could do some green drink/punch.
For games I did some that were from the TV show 'Minute to win it' and pitted heroes against villains to see what would win Good VS Evil (FYI Good won). Fun easy games that were easy to explain and kids could do, the crowd loved cheering on the contestants.
There are cute Rubber Duckies from Oriental Trading that were Superheros, a Dozen for I think $6. FYI they don't float upright, I gave them in the prize baskets, but if you wanted to float them and put a number on the bottom for people to 'win prizes' there is a 'how to' on how to glue washers to the bottom some where on Halloween forum.
Party Stores have lots of Super hero Plates, and party ware with time you can find sales and coupons.
That is off the top of my head, I will give it some thought.Man cannot live on bread alone.... (unless he is in a cage and that is all you feed him.)

Love the skyscraper idea! Kids love any kind of games that have a spinning wheel or ring toss, bean bag toss and you can always incorporate that into your theme and make it age appropriate.
Natascha is spot on with oriental trading, they have tons of stuff. And the duckies are cute. I just ordered the casino ones for our lake party.

You can also have pumpkin painting. They can paint their pumpkin as their favorite superhero.
“Do you know the terror of he who falls asleep? To the very toes he is terrified, because the ground gives way under him, and the dream begins.”

I found some really neat totes that say "BOOOM", "KRASH", etc. like in the comics on orientaltrading.com.
