My son's birthday is 5 days after Halloween so one year we had a costume party complete with ghost hunting (we hid suckers wrapped in tissue to look like ghost), pumpkin bowling, costume contest, bobbing for apples, hide and go seek, and other fun Halloween games. We served severed hand and eyeball punch(I can give you the recipe if you want), bat wings with guano, severed fingers, and a dirt cake. I put up spider webbing filled with glow sticks and we used strobe lighting. Oh and my friend did palm reading and tarot cards. Everyone had a wonderful time.

Aw, that is pretty darn near the best time to have a birthday, bet he loves all the cool things he gets for his party every year!
Got any pictures of your setup? Definitely post the punch recipe - I love weird food stuff!

that sounds neat, now you need to add haunted house to your birthday planning and go crazy.

NOWHINING We offered that to him last year but he decided he wanted a rave party, lol. So we set up a tent with black lights, fog, and great dance music, and gave everyone glow sticks. Only thing missing from the 13 year olds party. Girls.....
Floating Hand and Eyeball Punch recipe-
1 pkg. cherry Kool-Aid
1 pkg. strawberry Kool-Aid
2 c. sugar
3 qt. water
1 6-oz frozen orange juice
1 6-oz frozen lemonade
1 qt. ginger ale
Grapes
Or you can use your own favorite punch recipe as long as it looks like bloody punch.
For the best part-
Take gloves(make sure they aren't powdered) fill with water and tie them off. Put them in the freezer. Once frozen cut the glove away and put the ice sculpture into the bowl. It will look like hands and keep the punch cold.
Peel the grapes to make them look like eyeballs and put them in the mixture.

The ghost hunting game sounds like fun. I may try something like that this year for the kids at our party.
“Do you know the terror of he who falls asleep? To the very toes he is terrified, because the ground gives way under him, and the dream begins.”

It must of been because I was told I should plan parties professionally, lol. I tried it for about 6 months and then realized I was working nights, weekends and holidays and that was no fun! So I closed the business.

I love it - grapes!??! I swear sometimes I over-think these things, because that is just wonderful and it never occurred to me.

I do the frozen hand thing every year, but I usually do it in a different punch flavor (mostly something greenish) so it looks really creepy reaching up out of the bowl.

Make sure and use some sort of peeler. It hurts the fingers.

Last year I had a really fun party and every one said that it was the best party they went to all year, but it would almost be impossible for the same thing to happen again. So how can I make my birthday party fun? Keep in mind that there are going to be athletic people there that probably won't want to sit in the house and play an okay board game. Also i can't spend a lot of money because my parents are sending me and my sister to Florida and they are buying me a digital camera.thank you to anybody that gives me helpful information!(:
