I am planning my nieces Halloween/ Birthday party and need drink ideas. Most of the witches brews and things like that call for orange juice or orange flavored kool aid and my daughter is allergic to orange flavoring and orange juice. Any suggestions on what to substitute these with?

If your witches brew needs to be orange, perhaps substituting a combo of carrot juice & apple, peach, or pineapple juices. Maybe even combining carrot juice with coconut milk or strawberry nectar would be sweet enough to do the trick.

Personally, I'd maybe get away from the o.j. based punches entirely & try a recipe with apple juice or cider as a base- kid-friendly, sweet enough, & definitely in the Halloween spirit. I've used a combo of apple cider & ginger ale or 7Up at kids' parties, for example.

    Good Luck!

I've made "Swamp Water" mixing white grape juice, Sprite, green apple KoolAid (per directions), and blue food coloring.

Another simple one is Lime Sherbet and Sprite. It has a foam on the top as well and tastes pretty darn good!

I do a punch with sherbet (usually orange, but would taste just as good with the lime), ginger ale, cranberry and pineapple juice. Dump in a small container of the sherbet, one 2 liter of ginger ale and about 2 cups each of the juices. It's GOOOOD.

To me, a witch's brew type recipe absolutely could be a green color.

Mango juice, maybe? Papaya? You'd be more likely to find these in the ethnic/spanish food aisle as "nectar", it's thick and could be watered down to normal juice levels with seltzer. Lemonade with a drop or two of red food coloring?

1 cup gummy worms or other creepy crawler candy
    2 ice cube trays
    1 quart fruit punch
    Witch's Brew, recipe follows

    Directions
Arrange gummy worms in ice cube trays, 1 worm per cube. Fill tray with fruit punch as you normally would water. Freeze until solid, 8 hours or overnight. Place into Witches Brew minutes before serving

    1 (6-ounce) package lime gelatin
    2 cups boiling water
    3 cups chilled pineapple juice
1 (2 liter) bottle chilled lemon-lime soft drink or ginger ale

Of course if the fruit punch has orange in it just select something different

If you have bit of Pacnwwolf's "Witches Brew Punch" left over and let it sit for a while (like days or weeks; longer the better), it gets super thick and looks like the nastiest Troll Snot you've ever seen. This exact recipe is what I aged and use for my Troll Snot display jar. Hey, two-for-one good deal in my book!
