My brother and I will be hosting a Halloween in May Party and we need some fun ideas for things to do and maybe some prop ideas? We have a few fun games as well as a costume contest, but I feel like something is missing...?
I dont know, I was wondering if any one had any ideas we might be able to use.

That sounds fun. I would look in to finding candles or room fresheners that have the 'Halloween' smell.

Do a search on here for games there is LOTS of ideas.

For one b-day I had a Halloween theme of black and orange and Buffy the Vampire slayer. I got alot of my stuff on blowout sales right before April on buycostumes. Something else that might be cool is buying an edible cake topper for whatever theme you go with. I got mine off ebay for a round cake. I had a roast with a real wooden "stake" stuck into it, haha.

If you like the Buffy theme I could detail more but I had lots of stuff I did. Also, you can never go wrong with a candy bar, I bought many cool Halloween type candy from the dollar store. They had gummy rats and worms, spiders, bats etc. Large and small ones. No one ate any but they were cool to decorate the candy bar with.

If you include a cemetary, I'd have mourners putting fresh spring flowers on the graves of their loved ones - after all, Memorial Day occurs when it does because it's the time the flowers are said to be in the most beautiful bloom.

I assume it's also around the time that the ground has sufficiently unfrozen that caretakers can repair the headstones, and actually plant the people who died during winter in the ground.

Maybe you could do a May Day celebration along the lines of what we see in The Wicker Man? (the original, not the Nicolas Cage tragically-a-comedy). At minimum a May pole would seem to be in order.

Perhaps show what goes on in NBC's Halloweentown during the off-season, with the monsters planning their scares for Halloween proper?

Search the forum and the web for "Halfway to Halloween" or "H2H" parties. I know they've been discussed here and elsewhere before, although the details escape me.

Spring-time is also when many animals give birth to their young. Werewolf cubs, anyone?

The cemeatry was my favorite place to meditate as a child. Thus Ive been working on making myown. I add alittle to it every year. I like the idea of flowers on the graves. The stage will be set up as the main cemetary, with graves in all the corners of the venue.

I agree with the candle thing. Check out Yankee Candle...you can get any of their fall scents (which are phenominal) all year round!

do a haunted luau theme, you could do witch doctors, voodoo preists etc.... dead flamingos, and the weather should be plenty warm in Vegas for you to be out and play.
