My theme is Time Travel so I was thinking of a game of showing a candy or a picture of a candy and having four designated spots for players to stand depending on what decade/year they think the candy was created. read the answer and the ones that were right would answer the next candy question and keep going until there is 1 or a couple 'winners'
Start with decades and to get more difficult what 5 year time span or what year the candy was created.
I thought that would work well if people were coming and going, easy to jump in the next round with little to explain.
I have done some homework on years candies came to be and was surprised quite a few times.
What do you think?
Can you add something to it?
Have you done this set up for a game, and how did it work?

O.K I have decided to expand this game and also include questions on what year/decade for Scary Movies & Songs / Halloween Songs & Halloween activities.
Can you think of any other things to ask questions about?
Has anyone done a game similar to this?Man cannot live on bread alone.... (unless he is in a cage and that is all you feed him.)

I kinda like the candy trivia idea by itself. It could be a sort of trick or treating through the ages, and they could get the candy if they guessed it correctly. You could even have four makeshift doors, each representing a different age, to choose from. Hardest part would be finding the actual candy from different ages. Maybe regular candy could be used like tokens and use pictures of the trivia candy like you had first suggested. Whoever ends up with the most candy wins. This would make it easier to just jump in whenever and join the game. Cool idea natascha.

Actually, Old Time Candy has candy that has been in production since before the 1920s! Check it out and see if it will work for you. I bought a "decade box" of candy and treats from the 1930s for my dad, who was born then. He couldn't believe some of the stuff.

That sounds like a great game. I would definetloy get some candy from that old time candy company. Some of that candy sure brings back memories.
Eventhough I am Dead it is always warm inside my bed.

Thanks for the link to the old time candy, that is perfect!
Seems the consensus is to stick with my original idea of candy questions & prizes.Man cannot live on bread alone.... (unless he is in a cage and that is all you feed him.)
