Ok, so my party was on 10/23 and its my fourth one.
I just felt like a bad host... here's why:
Ok, so I don't drink much and about 9pm I had been sipping on strawberry daquiries for like 2 hours and I wasn't even buzzed so I decided to do a couple of shots with some people. Well... I had never had absinthe before so I did a couple of shots of straight absinthe.... mistake. I was quite drunk and I don't think I had another drink the entire night. I kept trying to eat so I would sober up but I just couldn't seem to get there until about 2am. There are actually large chunks of the party that I don't remember.
Next year I have vowed not to take a alcoholic drink at all until around 10 and no shots until 1am.
My fiancee was hosting too but... its mainly my thing.... I forgot to tell people about all the non-alcoholic drinks we had and I forgot to refil some of the chips and stuff...
BUT ... on the bright side.... so many people told me what a great time they were having/had!
-The decorations looked great and I got tons of compliments saying that it was my best decorations yet! (pics on this thread will come this weekend)
-I was really worried about 1:30pm when I was outside fixing my graveyard and I heard tornado sirens. Severe weather was everywhere and people started texting me asking if it was bad where I was. I was just waiting for people to start cancelling but only one person didn't come because of weather. My party didn't start until 7:30pm and the weather had moved on by then.
-Two of my friends came early to help and that was really nice!
-I ended up with about 20 people there which was about what I expected. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and they enjoyed 'Tempt your Fate'.
-The food went over well, although I think I had far too much sweet stuff. We had lots of dessert items plus my meatballs and Lil' smokies were in barbecue and grape jelly so they were sweet also! Next year... more non-sweet items.
I think everyone hit the alcohol kind of hard so the party kind of wrapped up around 2am when most went to bed but some friends and I stayed up and talked until around 6am.
All and all... awesome party... I think,.... lol...![]()

Sounds like your party was awesome!!
Our party was last weekend also! Nice surprise, my 22 year old daughter came home from LA - she couldn't stand to miss the bash!!
5th year party - took alot of cheat sheet notes for next year! 60 ppl! great, mixed crowd, but I feel like my party was too spread out. In the garage, was my son's friend DJing and mixing music - awesome! We had the fog machine, overhead blue lighting - awesome atmosphere...and coolers for beer, soda, water - that lead into the kitchen...lots of hot food, appetizers, etc - open to the living room where desserts were, the bartender, the casket - from there outback to the fire - I want to try and contain the party a bit - next year - "Nightclub of the living Dead" will be the scene! I had a blast, but hard to socialize with people being everywhere! Outback just felt like a fire in costumes, even though we had decorations, I think next year we will not do this again. Anyone else have that, or any suggestions? I think next year the bar will be where the music is, food will stay in the dining area, and no fire out back. Tables and chairs like a dance hall will be set up for seating in the garage so people can dance.
And just to mention, we have a dear friend, 51, diagnosed with ALS. He is in a wheelchair, with a tracheotomy, 100% dependent on everybody for everything in his life. It made us soo happy that he came and stayed for 4 hours. He was dressed as superman! We were able to put up a portable ramp from the inside of the garage into the house!
Also, way to much food!
Shots were a huge hit! Brain Hemmorage was delicious!
