    Hey guys,

Finally went on my First "Official" paranormal investigation. A pump house here where I live - Richmond VA, is rumored to be haunted. A local group, led by Robert Bess, called the Foundation for Paranormal Research, was granted the opportunity to investigate the pump house. The investigation was open to the public, so the group I'm part of, the Richmond Paranormal Society (RPS), went in and recorded their investigation.

Robert Bess and his group used what they built and called a "Parabot", which is suppose to "Catch and contain entities". It's basically a big box with a tesla coil inside of it, and one outside of it, generating large amounts of electricity in the air which supposed entities can use to manifest. They also have fog so that "you can see the ghost easier". I'm not really sure I believe in it at all, but either way me and my group have video and picture footage of it. I thought some of you might be interested in checking it out.

For those of you living in Virginia, the Richmond Paranormal Society webpage can be found here: Richmond Paranormal Society

If you want to check out the video footage and images I took, you can head here and see them: Hauntary; RPS Pump House Investigation

We've deduced that nothing paranormal occurred at the investigation. That doesn't mean that the building isn't haunted, though. Another thing to note, the only time the crew and the public were allowed into the building was between 10:30AM to 12:00 Noon - so we didn't get to investigate during "peak" time.

A little side note: Some of you may have heard of Robert Bess. He was on a Ghost Adventures show in October a year (or a few years) ago. It was a Ghost Adventure's Live show, with Robert Bess and his "Parabot" as guests, trying to capture entities. During one of the scene's, Robert Bess seems to be throwing his recorder out of his hand while saying that "it flew out of my hand". Due to this, his credibility has plummeted. I personally believe he threw the recorder, but that's your choice to decide. You can see the video here.

I won't deny I loved going in an anbandon house as a child and getting spooked by my own imagination.. But when I see grown adults actually making a living at it on tv... A little of me dies inside...

We got more than we bargained for as a child. Deciding to poke around an old abandoned power facility on a military base (which we were not supposed to be on). Wasn't ghosts we needed to concern ourselves with....

@ Zeltino - Thanks for the info and the link. I wish I'd known about Ghost Adventures last year (recently found out about it) I would've loved to have seen that particular episode/special. Zak was a bit rude to Robert Bess wasn't he? He kinda seems like an old man and Zak just brushed him off. Even after he said he didn't even see the footage himself.

@ osenator - I feel the opposite. I'd love to investigate some place that's claimed to be haunted and love to see it on TV. I don't see how scaring yourself in a creepy building is any different from scaring yourself at a haunt or amusement park.

@ UnOrthodOx - I'm not connecting the dots. Were you attacked by dogs or hobos or something?

I think that is my problem, I don't get scared of anything much.. with my kind of pernonality, logic and rational thinking is always my first instinct.

I remember one time, in my late teens, me, a friend and one my older brothers, we sneeked inside a old hugggeee abandon mansion (now, it's a embassy for a rich Arab counrty, that's how big it is). We always visited this mansion being abandon for about 20 years, was owned by the city, was for sell for 4 millions at the time, so, it took time to be sold.

One time, we notice one the back windows was open on the second floor. We realised someone had jumped on a entrance porched and manage to get in. Of course, being stupid, we decided to go in too the same way. It was amazing, each room had a huge marble fireplace, zero damage from grafity, was in perfect abandon state. just on the main floor, it had about 20 rooms, had 3 stairsways, one one each end of the house, one main huge stairway in the center of the mansion, all in marble. Exploring was cool, until we heard someone suddenly started running up stairs on the fourth floor. Of course, my brother and my friend was "A ghost!? Let's go see!!!" laughing. They were almost running upstairs to see, until I grabbed them both and told to relax and think for a second.

"Who would break inside this place.... the location.. what is close to here and why hide in a mansion like this?" I asked them.. They thought and saw my logic and knew we might be in real danger if we did see who was upstairs.

To answer my questions were : A huge bum/drug addicts center was very close to that location, with many crimes happening in that part of town (including murders). Likely was an addict that broke inside to shoot up and would be likely armed with something.

We quickly left after seeing my reasonning and we never came back, due to being sold finally after a few months after.

It was fun, but I would imagine if I would be foolish like my friend and brother, ran upstairs, just to be confronted into a dangerous situation. Not worth it...

Still, I do love exploring places... But I do know ghost don't really exist and don't let my imagination get the better of me... I think I should have been born a Vulcan somehow... (L).

Base guards do not take kindly to trespassers. Unfortunately, we had to notify them when one of my friends fell through a floor and we had to get help. (it's long and complicated, but that's it in a nutshell)

Oh, I thought when you said it was abandoned there would be no one there. My bad.
