Any of you ever own a mundane item that doesn't seem to want to be ordinary?

My friends and I were rather creeped out by the first VCR I owned. It turned itself on at random times, but that was the least of its oddities. You know how you would eject a movie, then it would sit in the opening until you retrieved it? Sometimes this VCR would pull them back in and start playing them. Also, about four years after I bought it, I realized I had never had to change the batteries in the remote, despite plenty of use. They finally died a few months after, and I replaced them for the first and only time while I owned that insidious machine.

What creeped me out the most, however, was an incident while I was alone watching tv one night. The VCR turned itself on, as usual. What was unusual on this occassion is that it starting playing, despite there being no movie in it. I quickly turned it off, as I did not want to know what was going to come on the screen.

It has been more than ten years since I parted ways with the devilish device, but I think it still remembers me. While I was typing this post, my lights dimmed twice. Somebody hold me, please.

Sounds to be more like faulty electronics, front loading VCRs are very sensitive when you attempt to remove the VCR tape any slight push in the tape will activate the loading mechanism and the tape will load and play. There were many mechanical faults with VCRs that is one of the reasons for the phasing out of them.

Oh, yes! I once had a haunted FAX machine. Either haunted or possessed by the Devil. Then, one morning, it simply vanished!

VCRs are infamous for making people's lives difficult. Whether it be at the start of owning it, the middle of owning it or the end of owning.

Other than owning a REAL Piece of History; Billy the Kid Bonney's Gun, that was planted on him by Pat Garrett the night Billy was killed at Ft. Sumner, NM, No.
But it also has the Blood Spatter Stains on it, where it has corroded the Metal on the Cylinder and the Barrel.
Billy's Spirit has been seen in that area of where I keep that Item.
I bought it in AZ at an Antique Firearms Store several years ago.
I don't mind - He is my Cousin.
