there alot of unexplored areas in the world where prehistoric life could live without being notice. I remeber reading an account of a german uboat being attacked by a large crocodile like creature during ww 1 it lunge on the subs deck and took hold of the deck gun with its mouth. The crew opened fire on the beast in hopes of deturing it from the sub before it sanked soon the beast let go and swam off but it did its damage by damaging the deck plating they could not submerged and were captured by a british destoryer.

the thing is that the captain of the sub made a full detailed account of the attack saying it was all true sadly the sub was sank by the destoryer so it could not be salvaged and they never checked the damage the monster caused or look for teeth that may have fallen from the beasts maw. The description the captain gave of the monster was very much like a tylosaur an sea reptile that lived during the time of the dinosaurs so if it could survive why not other creatures
