    Don't think so Baron (capybara are found in South America (including Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Guyana, Suriname, French Guyana, Uruguay, Peru, and Paraguay) .

    Possibly an escapee? there are plenty of reports of "out of place" animals throughout the world.
    It's a pity nobody thought to take any hair or tissue samples from the roadkill victim.
