Hello...
Let me preface this by saying that I am a very cynical skeptic of things of this nature.
By no means am I overly dramatic, and I am certainly not imaginative regarding experiences that I have encountered.

My story starts last year. It was the middle of November in West Michigan.
The leaves have turned to the stereotypical burnt brown and were falling to the ground at their normally rapid pace.
The area that I live in is full of tourists and beaches.
I live a few miles away from a state park area that contains miles of trails that go deep into the woods. I've heard stories since my childhood of occultic practices that happen in those woods, and have been taught from my parents never to traverse into the forest alone.
I have heeded their warnings, but this November night, I decided to take my friends from out of town into those woods.
I live close enough to that area that I feel that I know those woods really well, I also know that our governer shut down a prison next to the state park a few years ago, and one of the buildings remain abandoned.
I decided to take my friends to that building. It's a thrill, especially late at night.
The building sits at the edge of a large field, heading into the woods, it's nothing to look at, just a small facility that used to house 20 or 30 men.
My friends and I walked through that field and were slowly approaching the building. The moon was our main source of light, but the clouds were making it rather difficult to see.
One of my friends had a small flashlight that we used to illuminate the path before our feet.
As we got closer to the facility, I noticed that a light flickered in one of the upper windows.
I didn't think much of it at first, being a skeptic and all, and just chalked it up to the reflection of the moon on the old glass.
But the light danced wildly within the confines of the room. The reflection of the light was not the moon.
We decided to continue... we are all in our 20's ...there's nothing to be afraid of.
We got right up to the building, and by this time, my friend and his wife were starting to get spooked as they had noticed the light.
I put my finger up to my mouth to signal them to keep quiet, and when we looked up at the window... the light just shut off.
It sent a chill up my spine. I didn't think that there was anything paranormal going on, but the thought of us not being alone in the middle of the woods, miles away from any sort of civilization freaked me out.
We had already come that far, we were not going to turn around.
My friend wanted his coveted picture inside the building.
So we walked around the side of the facility and noted a bunch of broken glass. Area teenagers use that building for parties, so that did not scare me at all.
I have been to that building enough in the daylight to know if things were out of sorts.
This time... things were out of sorts.
The normally locked service door was propped open with a chair, which alerted me to try to convice my friends to turn around and not go in.
They would not listen... we sheepishly walked through the door, certain that we were going to be met by whom-ever blew out the candle.
The doorway lead us into a large lobby area, probably where the inmates congregated. I told Mel and Arley to get close together so I could take the picture and we could get out of there.
As they got close together, Mel said "what am I standing in?!"... we looked down, Arley turned on his flashlight, and noticed that they were standing in a bloody mess.
Mel pleaded with her husband to get out of there, and Arley agreed, he looked down at it again and noticed long hair and meat fused in with the blood. This was not animal blood.
We started to run out of the facility, very quickly when we heard fast stomping upstairs, coming out direction.
We ran hard out of that side door, just as we had crossed the threshold of the door, it slammed behind us.
We ran through the field toward my car, which was still almost a mile away...
The entire run back to my car, we could hear footsteps in the woods along side of us.
We got to my car, locked the doors and started to head down the dirt road that lead to safety.
We argued as to what to do about the blood that we had seen, but Arley and Melissa decided that since we were technically not supposed to be in that facility, we shouldn't get the law involved... and they deduced that we should keep our ears on the news and see if anything fishy was reported.
I asked my father, who is a retired police official, and he agreed.

I have only been back to that building one time since then, it was the daytime, and I saw a construction crew tearing it down.

My question to you fireboy, is when your friend " Mel " noticed he was standing in blood did the blood manage to stay on the shoes? Cause that would be evidence incase something does arise in the news.

well, we were all very shaken from what had happened, and we did have to run back through a field.
I'm sure that Melissa kept her shoes for a while, but we didn't intentionally keep them aside to look at as evidence.
I guess it's something to consider.

this was almost a year ago, and nothing ever came up in the news... if anything were to be found in there, it would've been seen as the crew was tearing the building down.

True, unless the crew you saw was hired specifically to clean up and keep their mouths shut. Ya never know with this crazy world we live in.

yeah... i question that myself.
That building had been sitting there abandoned for almost a decade.
why would they tear it down now? ... doesn't work on government buildings take tax dollars? ... and isn't michigan in the middle of an economic crisis?

if it was torn down legitimately, then it just seems like a waste of tax dollars at this time.

in my opinion, it should've been taken down years ago.
