So, what do all you Ghostbusters think about this one?
"It's a story likely to confirm whether you’re a true believer or a true sceptic. Twins Phil and Mick Cahalane, 45, possess a family photo with an intriguing story. According to the brothers, the photo was taken more than 100 years ago in Scotland and shows their great-grandfather with the image of a “saintly” figure. The pair first saw the photo as children, when their mother produced it at a family gathering. "

The Patron saint of Headaches, no less.... Which don't make a whole lot of sense with the story.
His arms appear to be around whatever it is in the photograph. Could be a statue. Could be Simulucrum.

Supreme court has denied the case.
U.S. Supreme Court won't hear Texas exorcism case | News | Star-Telegram.com
The U.S. Supreme Court today declined to hear the case of a former Colleyville woman who says that a forced traumatic exorcism left her so physically bruised and emotionally scarred that she later tried to commit suicide.
Attorneys for Laura Schubert Pearson filed an appeal before the court late last year arguing that the Texas Supreme Court was wrong in tossing out her case against the Pleasant Glade Assembly of God in Colleyville.
In the appeal, Pearson's attorneys argued that the Texas court's ruling "dramatically and dangerously departs" from the Supreme Court's earlier decisions, adding that someone's religious beliefs do not excuse them from being held accountable under valid state laws that prohibit such things as assault and false imprisonment.

orth, i looked up simulucrum in google, it didn't really help, does it mean illusion? i also looked up patron saint of headaches and saint teresa of avila.
if i was holding fish, that would be the position my arms would be in. as you see his right arm was also in that position and he is holding nothing in that arm. if he knew for a fact he was holding nothing in that arm, then he would indeed see into that picture a figure. but, their wanting to sell the picture, at the same time it could be a fish tale they made up to promote the sale. that could indeed have been maybe the largest fish he caught that day and was actually holding that in his arms. the face could be a fish face. they could have wrapped the largest to take home and then unwrapped it for a picture and that is the stuff flowing down. love the story, but wouldn't buy it intirely.

Not exactly ILLUSION.
Simulucrum is the technical word for how our brain is wired to make sense of things.
It's why we see bunny's in clouds, and Jesus in burnt toast. Our brains try to make unusual shapes LOOK like something. Magnify any "orb" picrue enough, and you're likely to make a "face" out of it.
My wife axed a perfect picture I had to describe it. A Misty skull that appeared to hover over top of me. In reality, it was snowing at the time, and was an out of focus snowflake.

Why, thank you. :embarrassed:
KYLE (9 year old headhunter) did most the work on that hut as a scout project, actually. His new scout master, however, is new to the neighborhood, and doesn't really understand the halloween thing...yet, and so has been giving us grief on some of the things he wanted to do this year.
I've always wanted to do a little test with the Virgin Mary thing. An old daycare of ours had this tree that had an interesting watermark on it, that if you felt like looking at it, you could make out an anonymous hooded figure.
Always wanted to make up some story that it was Virgin Mary, and it cured some kid's mysterious ailment just to see if we got loads of folks flocking to see/worship it.

that would be a good test orth. i wonder to if it would go.
your son then did a fine job on that hut.
maybe you could look up a badge the kids could earn from helping out with the halloween setup and get the scoutmaster into it.
