My wife likes the movie "Signs" and bought the DVD. After watching the video ourselves, she invited our niece and her family to watch it during a visit. It's a little slow, but it has its moments. During the scene where the family had locked themselves in the basement, just as the lights went out, we had a power failure and lost our lights. Not really paranormal but a strange coincidence just the same. Eventually the lights came back on, and we finished watching the movie. Just what we needed to spice up a slow thriller.

having the power go out is startling to begin with, throw in a thriller or horror film and someones bound to panic for a moment. all you can do is laugh off the short anxiety.
greatest power failure ever, first day of community haunt, two hours before open, semi hits power pole and we had to get approx. 30 people in make up and costume using candle light, flash light, and what little sun remained. now that was scary....somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.

power came on just as everyone was walking down to get in their places. we had a generator to power the foggers and few lights so it wouldn't have been a big isse for us if the power stayed down. the characters walking down got everyone waiting to go through excited.
