Walking around my house, even on sweltering days, I'll hit a momentary cold spot. They are never in the same place but are in areas where there couldn't be a breeze or draft. Rarely I'll be sitting still and one will seemingly run into me. It's eerie and gives me shivers. I also hear weird noises at odd hours of the day and they kinda freak me out.
I can't possibly be alone in this strangeness, do any of you experience odd things like I do?

I often see this weird creature running around the house - oh wait, that's my husband.

Okay, seriously, what kind of noises are they?

i get floorboards creaking when no one is around, nonexistant objects moving, scratch withing the walls (that no animal could get into), basic noises old houses make, theres just something eeire about it.
lights flicker sometimes, its usually not noticable, and ive been told of two ghosts that exist in my house but i havent met them. most people say my house is haunted but thats more because of halloween.
oh yeah my cats attack the walls sometimes for no apparent reason.
any ideas?...somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.

Hmm. That could be a lot of things, especially in an old house. I would say just investigate every angle, one noise at a time. Ghosthunters' site has some advice, I think.

Moonstarling loves a good haunting...maybe she will slip on by at some time.

i would rather leave what ever may be in my house alone. nothing bad has happened so i don't think anything is amiss.

Well, the scratching within the walls is definitely mice. And yes, they can get in with no problem. My house is tight, but still I manage to have them coming in. And the cat staring at the walls is something mine does, too, since she knows there are mice. Not that she's ever captured one. She plays with them.

The flickering lights could be a loose bulb, brownouts from the power company, or a bad connection, and floor boards may creak from expansion and contraction caused by weather changes.
However, the moving objects sound is interesting, and so is the cold spots. Those I'd investigate.
I don't mean to be a naysayer, as I certainly believe in spirits, residual energy, ghosts and what have you (see thread about haunted lighthouses). And I've been around poltergeistic activity, so there definitely could be something in your house. Have you ever contacted someone that does channeling? It'd be worth it to find out. Let us know if you do.

i know the causes of the noises,(except the objects-not-really-real moving thing) but its still creepy as hell at 3am when your the only one awake. and the lights thing, well im not sure about that, we have 90% of house rewired and they still flicker or flash and even burn out sooner than they should.
channeling? dont know of anybody that wouldnt want an arm/leg/soul for doing it. i know where i might be able to get a good quality ouija board but im not sure how reliable those are. anything else i should try?...somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
