I would say there are people that would do it for nothing, and in fact I wouldn't really trust anyone that charged. It's just a matter of finding someone who is sensitive. Don't know where to tell you to start. Like Jack Reaper said, there's Moonstarling, but she's in Florida. Maybe contact a paranormal society around your area, and see if they know of anyone?
As far as a ouija board, I've heard both good and bad about them. I have no opinion one way or the other. Using them when I was a kid, I'd swear they worked, but who knows.

Scratching in the walls with cat attention might be mice. There are some black beetles that make loud scratching noises as well. My concern about the flickering lights would be that it could be a sign of wiring damage...and thus a fire hazard. Combine older wiring with rodents and you might have a problem. A mouse will chew the cloth insulation off older wires for nesting material.

I'd have a reputable exterminator check out the place...just to be safe.

Kinda makes me wonder how cooked mice smell....probly like Rats-a-roni?

old wiring is long gone, mice are long gone too (the few that existed) cats are vicious hunters sometimes. i suspect wasps or bees. possibly bats.

i may get a ouija board and see what happens. you never know i could get some answers.

I GUESS you could smash bats and/or bugs with a Ouija board...but it would probably get really slimey after a while. LOL.

I just saw a blurb on our local news last night about how bats are really showing up in large numbers in residential areas this year. The video on the news showed an endless stream of bats pouring from a woman's house. ICK.

i've never experienced any cold spots but i have heard some odd noises and distinct smells every so often, but that's all. it sounds to me like you've got a ghost or possibly more than one. there are other alternative ways to detect the presence of a paranormal being besides using a ouija board (which probably aren't very reliable). i think i have a pretty good suggestion if you're interested.

in my opinion one of the most effective ways of capturing proof of an entity is to walk around with a camera in hand. "ghosts" tend to show up at random and are less likely to be encountered when you go looking for them. if you just happen to suddenly walk into a cold spot, take a picture and you may see something develop.

i've been told of two (possibly 3) ghosts in my house that are fairly active although plenty of snapshots have been taken in my house without strange entities. its something i've gotten used to, im just looking for kindred spirits, really. its nice to see people interested.

does anyone know where i can find an unused(new) ouija board?
the only kind ive been able to find looks childish and glows in the dark. i dont do glow in the dark, mostly cause i forget things glow, and i would like one that can be taken seriously.

if nothing else can someone point me in the right direction for a ouija DIY?

We live in an old frame house with wood floors. One day my mother came outside calling us (my father and I ). She asked if anyone had been in the house and no, no one had been in the house. The hallway runs down the wall of her room and at the end of the hall is the door to her room. When you walk the hallway your footsteps can be heard in the floor. My mother heard that expecting one of us to appear and just before it entered the doorway it stopped. When no one appear she went to look and no one was there. Thats when she went looking for us. And asked if we had just gone down the hall. The look on her face said it all.
