Thread: Winter Park High School haunting?

I have heard some rumors about a haunting at Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Florida. Apparently, many years ago, some kids on the varsity swim team were at one of their practice meets after school when a freak thunderstorm came through and were killed when a bolt of lightning struck the pool. Supposedly from then on, whenever kids are swimming in the pool just before and/or during bad weather, they feel an overwhelming sense of dread and might even hear faint screaming or see the lights flicker. Has anyone else heard about this and could confirm or deny?

Haven't heard of it, but I work with a couple people that went to Winter Park. I'm going to ask if they know about it.

just curious-- I haven't been out 'hunting' in a long time--no need to,seems I had other abilities come to light that require my attention more

It is not listed in any of the Haunted America books I have!

Yeah I know...that's why I was asking around because a couple of my friends said they felt chills and heard screams around the pool area (of course no one else was around)...

How the hell does lightning hit a pool? usually a school pool is enclosed and lightning doesent hit a flat surface. Lightning typically hits the tallest structure around. Sounds fishy to me. mayby the lighning hit a pole near the pool or structure nearby that grounded and conected to the water. That would make more sence.

Yeah, you're right about that...I think the lightning actually hit something near the pool and then somehow the pool got zapped...of course, I really don't even know if this story is even true or not - I just heard rumors about it...

that is prob. what it is, a rumor. I have never heard of it. Oh well. Keep searching to see if it is true or not.

i used to live in Winter Park Fl but have never heard of the highschool pool being haunted. I'm trying to find out from other friends who grew up in that area and I'll get back to all of you as to what I find out... if anything
