This actually happened to my daughter 2 weeks ago.
Its not so much wierd as it is funny.
Daughter was sitting at home with her 2 daughters (10 and 14 years old)watching tv late one evening.
Her husband was working the night shift.
Her and the 14 year old were watching a spooky movie.
Several feet behind the couch they were sitting on is a door under a stairway that leads to the basement.
Daughter heard a noise and turned around to see what it was, she saw the basement door slowly open.
She at first thought it was her 10 year old daughter so she called her.
The 10 year old was in the kitchen.
She checked on her 2 dogs, they were at the end of the couch sleeping.
There has been a lot of wierd stuff going on in their house for some time, so she wasn't sure if she should go and check to see what it was.
Finally she got up the nerve to go to the door and check the basement.
She slowly walked to the door and turned on the basement light, but it didn't work.
She slowly peeked around the door and saw 2 green eyes in the darkness staring back at her from the bottom of the basement steps.
I'm not sure if she got rid of that cat or not.![]()

LOL Strange1. That is too funny.
But it does show that fear of the unknown is the best scare of all. Forget the gore.

You're definetly right Michigal, fear of the unknown is the best scare.
I can almost hear the thoughts going through her mind when it happened.
A week before this happened, my daughter was in the bathroom, when she opened the door there was a little girl dressed in a little white dress standing there looking at her, then the little girl just dissapeared.
The same thing happened to my 14 year old granddaughter 2 days earlier.
They compared notes and decided it was the same little girl.
Daughter told me as far as she knows no one has ever died in the house, so who it is, is still a mystery.
There has been quite a few weird things go on in their house, and I would like to check them out for myself.
But my son-in-law is so unnerved by it, that he doesn't want it discussed while he is there.Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional
