Thread: unexplained feelings in certain areas

I really don't know how to word this, but has anyone had any types of feelings or such when in certain areas? I can't explain the feeling, mine is a pleasant one, like I want to be there, Its an area in town near where I live, actually it covers a few blocks, I'm kinda drawn to I guess, it feels different than the rest of town, I can tell which area I get this feeling where it begins and where it ends. I know it sounds crazy, and I wish I could explain it better. anyone out there understand?

I know exactly what you mean. Some people blame it on past lives or loved ones passed on who shared a time in the area. Others Explain it away with energies from ley lines in the earth. I like to believe my "places" are unique to me and not because of a magnetic pull from the ground.

I've experienced this too. I'm a bit of a skeptic (Ok, I'm a pretty large skeptic), and I usually chalk this up with you noticing similar things in an area to something you subconsciously remember from childhood. Pleasant or Unpleasant. That said, I know others consider this places of stronger paranormal activity...again, pleasant or unpleasant. Along with everything Druidess said... 8)

I have felt it too. I am a sceptic when it comes to the megnetic concept. I tend to be spiritual so I think it is more on how I am personally feeling and things interacting with me not the earth.

Have you lived in this town your whole life? It could just be nostalgia. I often get the same, or similar, feeling when I go back to certain areas of the town I grew up in.

no, not from this area, and its nothing like where I grew up. I feel it more in the fall or on warm days.

i know what you're talking about, but i don't know if i would attribute it to anything external

for me, I prefer to be by the ocean, and the ONLY place i feel at HOME is ocracoke island. Now, i visit there frequently, but have never lived there. but everything about it feels 'right', and that I'm 'supposed' to be there. In a town of 800 year round residents, I'm often mistaken by locals AS a resident.

I am pretty sure I know the feeling you're talking about! I live in Muskogee and run a paranormal investigation team called Dark O.P.S. (Oklahoma Paranormal Services) and we were recently contacted by an elderly woman living in Tahlequah that wanted an investigation of her house. My fiancee and I went to her house to interview her and set the investigation up, which we are conducting this Sunday. Before stopping at her house, we went to Wal-Mart and I had a warm, vibrating energy fill my body around that whole part of town! I've been researching Ley Lines for a couple years now, and though there's no proof that's what's causing the feelings, I know there's five Ley Lines that intersect through Tahlequah, the point of their contact being Sparrow Hawk Mountain I believe it is called, a site the Cherokee held sacred before a spiritual group built a retreat there.

I used to be the construction coordinator for a Big Brothers & Big Sisters Charity Haunted House in western Connecticut. We actually used an old two story, brick farmhouse built in 1888. All of the windows were covered with plywood. We noticed it was always cold in there, even during construction in July, but we always felt welcome there. We added handrails along certain scenes, but never made any major modifications. We were always respectful of the charm of the old house and did no damage to it that was not merely cosmetic. Not a single volunteer ever mentioned feeling uneasy or unwelcome.

One year, we found an old stairway hidden in a wall. The bottom entry was plastered over and the top was covered when a bathroom was installed or expanded at some point. We opened it up as a means for actors to move between floors unseen by guests and to pop out of the floor to scare guests. Shortly after we opened up the stairwell, we noticed that we would get chills momentarily and heard a lot more "old house creaking" than ever before. Things would fall over in rooms, and a hanging dummy fell on me as I walked through one of the hallways. The eye hook had unscrewed from the ceiling. The clincher was when 19 of the 26 of us came down with viral broinchitis and pneumonia by the end of the season.

The house no longer had a warm inviting feel to it. The energy was very negative and few of us wanted to continue. We did one more year, but experienced a similar negative vibe and felt unwelcome. That was our final year of operation. The house sat dormant for a few more years and was finally torn down in a parking lot expansion for the college that owned the property.

I don't know if the changes we experienced were coincidence or something more. I am skeptical of the paranormal, but not nearly as much as I was before that experience.

i always get a strange feeling when i walk into a graveyard. a light feeling on my back, like it takes off some weight. don't know how to explain it in english, sorry. kinda feels like when you touch a 9v battery with your tongue. i sometimes have the same feeling when i walk into a house. not every home, but old houses mostly. i don't know if it has something to do with it, but the old houses where i get it are houses where previous owner or relatives have died :s i'm not sure what to believe but a few years ago someone told me that it could be that i'm sensitive to that kind of energy. what do you guys think? is that possible?
