Went for a walk in the cemetary yesterday, as you do. Took the following on my camera phone. I want to go back and take some better shots with an actual camera but will have to persuade my other half to come with me as I freak myself out when I'm alone there X-D

It's a really old cemetary with some of the graves dating back to the 1800s. The older parts are the most interesting. There's like, an avenue of statues, which is a bit unsettling. You go onto one of the older paths off to the left of the chapel and you can see all the statues spaced out at intervals. You can't watch all of them at once and you sort of feel that one of them will move when you're not looking.

Statues back to back. The one in front is the grave of a lady called Freda, she was only 22 when she died. I assume she was Jewish as there is Hebrew writing on the stone. I have to say that when I tood in front of this statue, I had a very weird feeling.

Another oif Freda's grave, sorry the picture isn't very good wuality (phone camera)

    Stones with ivy

There's no name or dates on this stone; the inscription just says "He is not here he is risen."

This one is kinda weird. Um. Does anyone else see a black shape at the back that looks sort of like a hooded figure? It's probably just a shadow cast by one of the stones. Creepy looking though.

Like I said, I'm hoping to go back and get some better shots.

I see the shapes. Actually 2 - and yeah, they're probably shadows. Still cool.

Those are really great pics! I've been to the UK on two occassions. Visited an ancient cemetery in Scotland near some castle ruins. Some of these stones dated back 3-400 years. I love the shots with the ivy growing all over. Very creepy!

Wow. I love the cross tombstone with that epitaph. Hope you don't mind me stealing it for a tombstone.
