I just finished watching the premiere episode of Paranormal Witness on SyFy, and so far it looks like it might be a pretty good series. Even though it doesn't have physical proof, it kind of reminds me of ghost stories you'd tell over a camp fire, but on TV.

So I was wondering to anyone else who watched tonight, what do you think so far of SyFy's new paranormal series?

I just watched the first episode. I don't think it's 100% real but it makes for good, not to be taken seriously entertainment.

It's supposed to be based on "true" stories but dramatized. The problem is that the dramatization is made to look like a movie. I saw the preview of the girl who was being haunted and the part where she's sucked into the basement made me instantly blacklist this show. Paranormal accounts are one thing but fantasizing them is another.

I loved it! They take real peoples stories and have them telling it and the show has done reenactments.

This is why I hate Celeb Ghost stories. Plus they get the WORST lookalikes for the celeb. The guy that played Dee Snider looked like some average guy in a bad, frizzy Halloween wig.

You should see the U.K version it's even worse. The dramatisations are very OTT and the actors they use look nothing like the celebs.

Too much like "A Haunting" or "Celeb Ghost Stories". I don't want to see reenactments, I want to to see actual footage.

I thought it was kind of like "A Haunting" too. I don't mind the reenactments too much since theres not a ton of paranormal shows on tv. Now animal planet has a paranormal series, it's pretty much the same thing as A Haunting but more animal based. I think the only series on t.v. currently that does paranormal investigations is Ghost Hunters, or GHI. I haven't seen Celeb Ghost Stories before...it sounded too cheesy.

It is but only because of the reenactments. If they took those out it would be waaay more watchable. It's cool to hear the stories because it's generally people you wouldn't expect to have had a paranormal experience or would even believe in that stuff like Dee Snider or John Waters.
