Thread: Is this an orb?

I don't know much about these sort of things. I was taking pics in a nearby cemetary. I noticed this light over the small angel on the left. I took several pics and I didn't see anything else like this. I was just wondering what others thought about it.

Digital or film camera?

Film has always been buggier in some ways because of the possibility of exposure and development errors and goofs. But, digital is buggy too in that you get a lot of artifacts. That could easily be the reflection of the flash off something else in the image (like that other weird angel with the 'peace' sign). Light can bounce back off the camera lens and turn up in the image in weird ways.

I'm not convinced about the whole orb thing. A split second of a camera's flash can easily capture a speck of anything from dust to plant particles...

Yep, exactly. I've seen a lot of weird things in photos I've taken over the years. I don't think a single one was paranormal.

I don't think it's a spirit orb. I believe in spirit orbs but they are pretty rare compared to the dust/water/reflection orbs that appear in a lot of photos. This one doesn't look paranormal to me. Sorry if that's disappointing to you.

Real Orbs are unique ----- They provide their own light, but when you use flash it's hard to tell and most of the time all you are getting are dust, mites, bugs, and reflections....

Its a Digital camera a Nikon D40. I"m not completely sure I'm sold on the whole orb thing either. I had been at the cemetary taking photos about sunset and that was the only thing that even came up odd on any of them. Some friends and I were scrolling through the pics and they started freaking out thinking it was an orb. I don't really care one way or another. I just like taking photos of cemetaries and tombstones. I kinda it think it might have been a firefly or some buggy creature.

I believe it is a reflection from the angel on the right. The peace banner it is holding is reflecting your camera flash. I have been doing paranormal investigations since 2006 and personally hate orbs even though I do have 2 pics from the same location 1 year apart the we captured some kind of orb that we still have not debunked yet.

It's an orb; but it's probably not paranormal. Being outside will bring in a slew of possibilities; dust, spores, reflections, bugs, pollen, etc.

There's no way to rule out any of the mentioned above, so we can't say that it is paranormal.

I've never understood where the whole orb theory came from. Specks of dust have always been seen in photographs so what makes an orb different? People claim it's the place that the picture was taken but those places can have specks of dust or any other particle floating around as well.
