Here's a site that features over 1,600 personal accounts of people who died and were revived. They revealed later that they had experienced an "after-life". Something beyond Death. The fellow who set up the site has a book out, "Evidence of the Afterlife" that I am about half-way through. Very compelling, given that the author is a Doctor, a member of the Scientific Community, who is, by his very nature, a skeptic. I thought that members of this forum might enjoy what goes on here - www.nderf.org

Thats an interesting website Wolfman! Lots of the experiences were similar, the scientists put it down to oxygen deficit, not sure myself!

A buddy of mine had a N.D.E. which drove him to form a paranormal group in TN. We're currently partnered with them and he's one of the coolest people I've ever met.

Aren't there various chemicals released by the brain when close to death - isn't DMT (which people take recreationally) one of them? You can experience some pretty weird things with DMT (not that I know first-hand, would never take anything like that, I wouldn't dare). As much as I would like to believe there is something after death, I just don't. I put it all down to the release of crazy chemicals within the brain during the process of dying. Which is a freaky thought. As if dying's not bad enough, you've got to experience all kinds of trippy stuff at the same time

try some salvia, it's legal
or read their experiences

No thanks LOL. I've heard all about salvia. I'm a pretty big fan of only seeing things that are actually there.
Seriously, I have a big problem with the idea of hallucinogens of any sort. Not with other people taking them - it's your body, go nuts - but they're not for me. My mind is a strange place at the best of times, I don't need it getting any stranger!

i only meant that there is a similarity between near death experiences and salvia experiences
both point to consciousness continuing on even after body death occurs

Ah, it was because you put "try salvia." I thought you were literally suggesting I try it, LOL.
I have a friend who's done it quite a lot. It's legal here too. He said he had to leave notes in prominent places for himself saying "You are not dead, you just think you are. you are on salvia and everything is fine." Or else he would really believe he had died.
He also had some friends who were admitted to the local mental hospital after some intense salvia experiences. Which is why I wouldn't touch the stuff with a nine foot bargepole.
