Ahoy ye scallwags..
'twas thinkin' of any problems inherant with makin'/sellin'/swappin' routines amongst ourselves an' came up with this realization.. everyone be 'avin differnet servo limits, so one routine made fer my skulls (an' their limits) would nigh work fer Dionicia, Dudedrummer or Dr. Morbius, unless, an' 'eres where it gets tricky, 'mates, we figure out (post) what everyones servo limits be.. an' if ye be runnin' mor than one skull, tha' be limits fer each skull.
..say I post me Pirates o' th' Black Tide.vsa routine (and music too), an eveyone downloads it, an imports it into their VSA.. if th' limits be too far out, it might just make th' servos chatter till ya hits the reset button ta center them again, worst it'd do is bend the servo arms, again until ye hits the reset button an centers th' servos, takin' the strain off 'em.
So, can we prevent tha(if ya can) with "safe" servo limits?? what those be I dont know as each servo's different, but it depends a LOT on, where in the servo shafts rotation each of us mounted the arm on the shaft. If ya didnt center the servo before mountin the arm yer midpoint be different from mine, savvy? Lynx's standard limits fer the SSC32 (hitec) servos be 500 and 2500, but tha be fer 180degrees of rotation. Most I seen fer me servos goes from 1100 ta 1900 which makes 'bout 90degrees of rotation.. so if'n everyone sets their limits ta standard numbers, nigh nessessarily mine either, we'd be good ta swap them around..
Wot's it oll mean, Jack?? Well, means, BEFORE ya mounts th' arm on th' servo shaft fer the links and jaw, ya has ta power the servo, makin' it center, turn it off, then mount the arm an' links. Tha' 'least puts yer limits somewhat uniform with others tha' center up..

It might be a good idea to find a "safe" set of limits for everyone to work from that way if folks do want to swap, they are on the same page.
Tell me more about this reset button.

First thing to do is along the right edge of the VSA screen, bottom of the tool bar, there is a little picture of a servo, that enables/disables the servos, just above it a a double-hashed line, thats the reset button, sets all servos to thier mid-position. With everything plugged in, and powered, hit the reset button, power off, then mount the servo arms and links trying not to move the shaft.. THEN...
open the Settings menu, dbl-click on the servo type, select the SSC32 servo, do that fopr every one of the channels you are going to use.. do the same for the servo limits, left-right, fore-aft, etc.. once each one is set, click the little hammer at the bottom left corner of the screen, Save Defaults. Now everytime you make a new routine, it will use those limits.Capt. Jack's YouTube 3-axis skull video page
