If the house market was better, and you were looking.....
Would you NOT buy a house because it is supposed to be haunted?
I've often wondered how many people would really skip over a house because it is spirit inhabited.

I'd buy it, but only if it was haunted by good, adult spirits with a sense of humor. Don't want to see any spirit babies; too sad. And the outside has to look haunted... 100 year old farmhouse would be perfect. LOL
Besides, I'm a lonely, old housewife during the day. Would be nice to have someone to talk to.

I honestly don't know. It would depend on the type of haunting, I guess. In most cases, a supposed haunting would not discourage me from buying the home. Obviously, any type of haunting that could cause harm to my family would be immediately out of the question.
I've always been curious about that sort of thing, but I'm not completely sure I could handle it if it were to happen to me!
I actually believe that is why the only possible encounters I've had were very brief, and could be dismissed somewhat easily.
I've even been known to voice my uncertainty in a place I think may be haunted. Usually something along the lines of, "If you really are here, than that is fine by me. I'm not here to disturb anything, and I respect this place. However, I can't say I will have the best reaction if you were to show yourself. Thank you!"
Yeah, I'm a dork. But it makes me feel better.

Same here. Mellow residual haunting, probably OK. Active haunting by benign spirits, probably OK. Demonic portal to h#ll, not so much!
I wouldn't be so worried about myself. My 7 YO DD would be my concern. She's not scared of Halloween stuff, but I doubt that she'd react well to a spirit sitting on the side of her bed in the middle of the night!Gothikim

yes i would, but only if i investigated the house for a few weeks
if it seemed to be residual and non threatening, cool
don't need to buy a house and have to avoid the blood running down the walls and the portal to hell as Gothikim said lolhttp://www.halloweenforum.com/member...bums-2011.html
