No attack at all. Was just frustrated that you have a coupons and promotions section and it appeared we were not allowed to post here. Why did it appear that way?

First, the rules for the section:

This section is for merchants and online stores to promote discounts to our members.

All Halloween and Haunt oriented merchants are welcome to post here.

By specifically stating "This section is for merchants and online stores" and "All Halloween and Haunt oriented merchants are welcome to post here." it kind of implies "and not normal forum users".

Post Limit:

1 Post per 30 days per merchant.

Again - 1 post per merchant.

No editing or Bumping of posts are allowed.
Since this section is for the announcements of coupons, discoints and promotions all threads in this section is subject to being closed as this is not intended to be an area for discussion.

We encourage you to share your coupons and promotions with our members!

Hey, merchants, share deals with our members!

And lastly:

This section is to post discounts and coupons. Not requests for discounts.

IE: Hey, users, don't post requests here.

Combine that with the closing of all the threads - it sure looked to me like we weren't allowed to post in that area.

Which brings me to my other point - if its not for requesting discounts - Where IS the appropriate place to request discounts? I asked about a party city coupon, and the thread was closed. Well, I posted it in the coupons and discounts forum... where else, if not there, is appropriate for me to ask?

Maybe we need a "Merchants post coupons here, no discussion, no bumping" forum, and another "Coupons and discount discussion" area where we CAN request coupons and discuss them...

Because they sure don't belong in the General section... but theres nowhere else for them to go. I still need a party city coupon, where should I ask for that? Clutter up General?

Not being snarky here but what discussion could there be about a coupon? Either it's posted or it's not posted & you use it or you don't.

If I wanted to know if something was available, I suppose I'd ask in General & if that wasn't the right place I'm sure a mod would move it.

I dunno. Go look at the coupon forum, plenty of threads there with more than 1 post. Looks like people found things to discuss. At the very least, letting someone post "Thanks!" in response to the coupon isnt the root of all evil.
