    Nice find. Odd, the people who grow these things appear to have little or no interest in Hallowe'en.

    Wow! That is quite a pumpkin! As a giant pumpkin grower myself I know firsthand what goes into growing these monsters. It is definitely alot of fun watching them grow and expand but also very heartbreaking when they blow or worse yet when vandals take over.
    With any luck my 'babies' will be carved out and lining my driveway for this years Hallloween show!

    I think that people that grow giant pumpkins are really into growing giant pumpkins. And gardening in general. To them it's about growing the biggest veggie they can & very seldom does it have anything to do w/Halloween. Though I have seen a few of them carved for Halloween after they went to competition.

    Fun fact about one giant pumpkin grower:

    Jim Martin, former guitarist for Faith No More is a giant pumpkin grower!;
    In a quite surreal turn of events the guitarist reinvented himself as a pumpkin grower, winning the heaviest pumpkin grown in California at the 30th 'Annual Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off', held in October 2003 in Half Moon Bay, California. Martin took fourth place overall with his 1,064-pound pumpkin.
    I always wonder what they do with it afterward? Make a lotta pumpkin pie? Roast all the seeds? Leave it to the squirrels? What?!?!?
