    Default Victorian Cemetery Photos – 08-11-2010,01:19 AM


    We visited Sheffield General Cemetery yesterday it opened in 1836 and closed for burials in 1978.

    There are two rows of catacombs built into the hillside, this method of burial was unpopular and only ten bodies were laid to rest in the catacombs in the first 10 years.

    The Anglican chapel was built in 1850
