Starting tomorrow I am officially living part time at my mom's. She had a great 3 months since being put on hospice, but she's on the downhill side of her cancer fight now. My sister, brother and I will take turns staying with her for as long as we can take care of her at home.

I really don't know what to say ,but you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Your mother sounds like a wonderful person.

Cathy- talking about politics and being made fun of.....this should make you feel better.

The whole world is making fun of the 'tolerant' Netherlands at the moment. Our govt collapsed a few months ago so we just had new elections. The EXTREME right candidate (Wilders) was the big winner of the night. He is now the leader of the third largest party here. Second largest right wing party. The largest right wing party is actually considering forming a coalition govt with him. He's the joke of the netherlands. His party is anti islam and wants to ship all the moslims out of the country!

It was one of the most exciting election results I've ever watched. The largest left wing and right wing were neck on neck the whole night. Even tied for 31 seats for most of the evening. The christian democrats (dont let the name democrat fool you they are very conservative) was the largest party before the election and had the current Prime Minister, lost HALF their seats in parlament! OUCH!

Interesting article MsMeeple... what the heck is up with all these minority governments and coalitions all of a sudden? We've had a minority for several years now, and it seems all the opposition does it talk about forcing an election to bring them down (instead of actually DOING their job, because obviously we don't think any party is capable of a majority right now!).

I loved the article along the sidebar, about the NY Times banning the slang "tweet" unless it has to do with birds... Now if only they could do something about the rampant use of the work "like" when people speak!

They've always had coalition govts here in holland which makes their politicians liars. In the campaign they make all kinds of promises that they know they can't keep because once in the coalition compromises have to be made.

I like totally understand you with the word tweet but like why don't you like like the word like? Like how else could I like express myself so well without like the word like??!!
