Scattering Ashes of the Cremated
This is just WRONG on so many levels. These people should be arrested for littering, but Disney is so image-conscious. What kind of nut would want her/his ashes scattered in an amusement park ride? Well, we ARE talking California here...

I understand wanting to be a part of something after life but an amusement park? Bizarre

I don't see a problem with it as long as they aren't trying to scatter the entire person's remains. What would be the harm of a few pinches of remains scattered in a place that may have brought the person joy? My husband wants his ashes taken to his favorite dive spot where he and his friends have had many hours of fun and exploration. My brother wants some of his remains taken to the place where our family has vacationed for years.

If it Bleeds, IT MUST BE CUT!

I don't care how much you love the ride or how "Halloween" it is.
Respect the park, the ride and the thousands of guests who visit every year and have your ashes scattered elsewhere.
Disney should press charges for vandalism of their rides.
Every instance results in shutting down the ride, thoroughly cleaning the area and reopening, which takes a lot of time. That leaves hundreds of people waiting for the ride to reopen, and many people upset because they have been in the park for hours and are sick and tired of waiting for the ride so they leave. There is also the expense of the specialized cleaning tools to take care of the issue.
It's a health hazard, it's disrespectful and it's an unbelievably stupid thing to do. The people who do it should be prosecuted, so others stupid enough to try it will think twice before they make an attempt....somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.

Health hazard really? Cremated remains are sterile and pose no health hazard. Their disposition is, for the most part, not controlled, provided the landowner grants permission.Cremation Explained, Answers to Frequently Asked Questions A person sneezing or coughing on a ride would be a greater health hazard.
As far as specialized equipment to remove the ashes, depending on where and how much is scattered, nothing more than a good vacuuming would be needed, with or without a HEPA filter.
The scattering of an entire container of remains would cause problems for a ride as they would collect in the mechanisms required for the ride to operate and thus would necessitate the shut down of the ride. A child being pacified with Cherrios could cause just as much of a problem.

Nothing will ever justify scattering any amount of human remains on privately owned property. There is a serious lack of respect for that property and all who visit it when you disregard the private ownership and do as you please.
Disney is a private company and their theme parks are part of their franchise. They should stand up and put a stop to vandals who are blatantly disrespecting their park's by leaving *human remains* on their rides.
It would be a different story if someone was dropping a finger here or a toe there, so their loved one could be with the ride in death. But cremated remains, that's just a little vacuuming issue. It's not what the remains are, or how much is being left behind, it's the fact that people are doing it with disregard for anything else.
There are far more respectful ways to scatter ashes and say a final goodbye to your loved ones....somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.
