I saw some previews. Not something I'd spend money on. Johnny Depp is a gifted actor but IMO has type cast himself as one who only takes on bizarre fantasy roles. I liked him in the POTC films, but much of his other stuff doesn't appeal to me. JMO.

I'm torn.
I love Tim Burton's style and his previous movies. I think Johnny Depp is quite good at playing oddities.
BUT
I am a big Alice fan... and I don't like "adaptations" or even continuations of the story like this. The original Alice books (there were 2 that Disney mangled into one movie) did not have Alice growing up and returning in any fashion to Wonderland. So it's a brand new story that is using (and possibly abusing) well beloved characters to me. Burton's style is very dark sometimes and the Alice books weren't. Burton even said
QUOTE off of IMDB:
Despite the fact that there have been many other Alice in Wonderland films, Tim Burton have said that he never felt a emotional connection to it and always thought it was a series of some girl wondering around from one crazy character to another.
So I can't help but fear for how he treated them if he didn't get the story and felt that it was just fluff.

We are definitely going and most likely in 3d if it's offered. I'm already thinking of different AIW ideas for the following year or go for the end of the world Mayan theme. HHMMM, maybe a Mayan in a blonde wig or top hat? Chestshire serpents?

I love Tim Burton,in a non homo way, not that there is anything wrong with that, so I am definetly going to see it. I also love Johny Depp, in a homo kinda way, just kidding, again, not that there is anything wrong with that. We share the same birthday and some people say I look exactly like him, that is if you had to much to drink or if you did some bad meth. I think it should be an adventure and something you will want to see on the big screen.

I'm very excited about this!!

I can't wait. Fascinated by the story since I was a kiddo, and seeing a darker version of it will hopefully be great! I'm not getting my hopes too high though; that is a sure way to be disappointed with a film!!

I am going to see it per my girlfriend. I am not sure what the heck they will do to it. I am a little leery of it.
Eventhough I am Dead it is always warm inside my bed.

Leery? Johnny Depp as "Winnie The Pooh", now THAT I would be "leery" of.
