On the dutch news they said that ALL of the US was being effected by extremely cold weather...including the warmer states like Florida. So since there are so many states represented here on the forum...thought I'd see if this was true. Raise your hand if your state is having below freezing temps! And wolfman, I dont want to hear about strolls on the beach in shorts! Its been below freezing here for days now and the snow just seems to keep coming!

Hasn't been too bad yet here in Chicago..... One of our furnaces has been broke since mid Dec, this morning that end of the house was 39 degrees. Hopefully I'll get the replacement part soon before it gets really cold outside. At least the rest of the house was a nice toasty 60 degrees this morning when I woke up......

I'm in Southern Indiana and the high today was 26. Normal for Jan. is around 40, so it's 14 below normal. I looked it up just now and the record low for this month was -28 back in 94. Burrrrrrrrr. It could always be worse!

raising hand.... going to get down to 17 degrees tonight here in South Carolina. Not as bad as the rest of the country, but a bit nippy for us. Daytime high is supposed to be 30 degrees tomorrow; well below our normal 50's. BRRRR I had to bring my stray cat inside.

Houston, Texas (Southeast TX, near the gulf)

Below average temps. We've been forecasted with temps in the high 20s tonight, with freezing temps every evening and highs during the day in the 40s... and a temp of 19˚ on this coming Saturday!!!

(We get freezing temps maybe a few days per winter, and see below freezing temps and snow every 5-10 years if that)

We've already broken a 100+ year record for earliest snowfall back on Dec. 4.
