So, whatcha' got cookin'?
We traditionally spend the evening with some good friends. Nice formal dinner, fire in the fireplace, good conversation. We're home by 11:30, watch the ball drop, and call it a night. Don't really care to be out driving around on amateur night!

This year I have told my sons they are more than welcome to have friends and girlfriends come over, hang out eat, play rock band, watch movies, play pool or whatever they would like. This way they dont have to be on the road driving. They will probably go out and eat then come to our house before it gets too crazy on the road, they are more than welcome to stay as long as they need to and until the next day if they dont feel they want to drive. They wont be drinking but the others on the road will so I thought they might like a place to hang and have fun and not have to worry
Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!

I have an early shift on New Year's Day, so wont be much partying for me

Fireworks are big in holland for new year's eve. Nothing like a bunch of drunks setting off fireworks in the cold! In very confined spaces!
So I'll be heading to bed after welcoming the new year in and I'll let Pieter stand guard and make sure our house isnt set on fire.

We're going to stay in, order a huge Wick's pizza, (Local pizza parlor & pub that is "da bomb" as my Daughter says) open a nice bottle of wine and watch a movie or two.
I'm all that's left of a bizarre childhood.......

Still planning....... Its between wings, bratweursts, a ham, chili and something else. LOL We still have not decided. May get a bottle of champagnee (spelled wrong for a reason) thats just what we call it. LOL Long story. Probably watch the ball drop on the telly. No fire works though too cold here. Its been getting down into the 20's here at night and I'm still trying to get over a cold. Besides people out in Texas like to set off fireworks and shoot guns into the air!

I'll be working a 3p-3a shift in the ER on a full moon New Year's Eve.
And not only is it a FULL MOON, it's a BLUE MOON as well, so expect even more crazies than usual.
God help us.
