Comrades of Commotion:

Tonight the Earth swings back toward the Sun on its yearly journey through the black, frigid reaches of outer space. From this point forward, the days will lengthen and the nights will shorten.

A New Year of blessed gloom and doom is upon us, my pets. Let us raise our glasses together and celebrate deeds of damnation yet to come.

Anyone else here celebrate? I always try to do things that my husband can participate in, so we just light a candle in every room. We also usually have a fire out back in the fire pit...but with a foot of snow on the ground and everything being covered...we didn't end up doing that.

Don't celebrate it, but I'm all for the Earth swinging back toward the Sun (my tan has long faded); and the days getting longer even if it is a minute or two at a time!

I'm all for the gloom, but do we have to do the doom bit??

I could do without too much doom this year.

However, I'll raise a glass or two to "Deeds of damnation yet to come...."
