I just heard the stupidest thing on the news here tonight. The Heath Department started the mexican flu immunizations for children under 5 today. In order to soften the blow, they had St Nick in the room to help distract the children. Now all those poor children will associate St Nick with the flu shot!
When parents tell their kids to be good or St Nick won't visit, the kids will be especially bad to make sure he doesnt come lol

Ijiots!!!
Oh, I got a story for that. I don't know why but when I was a kid, my mom had a family doctor stop by to give us immunizations. She pulled out the ironing board and had us sit on it to get our shot.
So, later in the year she had a photographer come over to take our portraits and she pulled out the ironing board. It took them an hour to get me out of the closet...long after that photographer left. Now, either that was a real photographer or he really was the doctor again. Now that I think of it, I need to ask mom which it was!

That's why permanent press was invented. Traumatized by an ironing board could work to every woman's advantage!
Pick the wine glass back up and toast to never going near an ironing board as long as you live!! Cheers and...BOO!" TO SERVE MAN " ... IT'S A COOKBOOK!"

Hypodermics or not, I find the whole concept of Santa somewhat creepy.
People harp on about Halloween and not taking candy from strangers etc etc....
Yet less than 2 months later the kids are putting up stockings to encourage some strange fat bloke, very often the worse for drink, to effect basically what is unlawful entry into the house under cover of darkness and creep around their bedrooms..
(*shudder*)
Only partially joking..and back on topic.
We always spend Christmas at my Fathers' house in London.
One year, when my daughter was very young, my father decided that he wanted to play "Santa" that year whilst I was relegated to chewing pieces of carrot to scatter on the front garden a la "Reindeer's dinner"
My daughter awoke during "Santa's visit" and being somewhat disorientated and realising that the figure in the bedroom desperately trying, and failing miserably, to remain out of sight was not Daddy, proceeded to scream blue murder. We eventually restored order and got to bed at about 4am....she then had us up at 7am because "Santa had been".
From then on, and to this day, Santa is banned from visiting bedrooms and has to leave the gifts in the lounge.
