I just hate taking down the Halloween stuff because the yard just looks so empty and bare. The flowers are dying, the grass is brown. It's too soon for Christmas. Do you do anything to lessen the blow?

I have quite a bit of indoor decor for fall that I use plus many turkeys that I add in. In the front yard I have some wooden yard art that helps. I have a turkey and aman and woman 4 foot pilgrim that I position on each side of the turkey. Some years I have bales of hay, but I didn't get any for Halloween, so I will do without.

One of the local banks has a large round hay bale (the huge one) delivered to the front lawn of the bank. Then they add large colored wooden pieces to the top of it to look like turkey feathers and a wooden turkey head to the front. I just love it. I would love to have something like that, but it would be HUGE in my yard.

I just don't see the boys being happy with Pilgrams unless we had them being massascared by Indians or something.

I'll have a great looking turkey carcass at the end of Thanksgiving day.

This week I'll switch out my Halloween for Thanksgiving/Fall decor. Usually do fall-colored leaf garland over the doorways, some candycorn lights, and pumpkin & small pilgrim figurines. In the yard we have an airblown turkey we sit in the bushes, and leave candycorn lights over the door.

That's all I can muster after The Season ;]

Hey - now you're talkin'! I could totally go for that! I never bought into that "happy thankful pilgrims" junk that we were taught in elementary school anyway...
